Peter Parker struggles to balance his crime-fighting duties as Spider-Man with the demands of his normal life. He loses a job, faces financial difficulties, and struggles to attend his physics lectures at Columbia University on time. Parker is estranged from both love interest Mary Jane Watson—now a successful Broadway actress—and best friend Harry Osborn, who still bears a hateful grudge against Spider-Man. Harry insists that Spider-Man murdered his father, Norman Osborn, who was secretly the supervillain Green Goblin. Parker's Aunt May is threatened with foreclosure, and Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson continues to denounce Spider-Man as a menace to New York City. As a result, Peter starts to think about giving up being Spider-Man. The attendant loss in self-confidence appears to have physiological effects, as Parker's enhanced arachnid powers soon become unreliable.

Harry, now head of Oscorp's research division, sponsors the research of brilliant nuclear scientist Otto Octavius, Peter's idol. Octavius, who dreams of perfecting fusion power, wears a harness of powerful robotic arms with artificial intelligence for an experiment in sustained fusion. Though the experiment succeeds at first, it quickly becomes unstable, the hubristic Octavius refuses to halt it, with disastrous results: his wife is killed, the neural inhibitor chip which prevents the arms from influencing Octavius's own mind is fried by an electrical arc, and the arms are fused to his spine. Unconscious, he is taken to a hospital to get molten metal out of him, but before one of the surgeons has a chance to cut the first arm off, the tentacles have developed a will of their own, and savagely kill the entire medical crew. Octavius then regains consciousness, leaving the hospital. The tentacles corrupt Octavius' mind, exploiting his vanity and ego, and lead him to the resolution that he must complete his experiment regardless of the moral cost. To finance his work, Octavius—whom Jameson nicknames "Doctor Octopus" or "Doc Ock"—robs a bank, where he takes Aunt May hostage after she and Peter were trying to refinance her house. Spider-Man battles with Octavius, but struggles early in the fight when his powers do not always work as desired. He manages to save Aunt May, but Octavius wins the day (nearly impaling Spider-Man at one point) and returns to his lair with loot stolen from the bank.

During a party, Peter learns that Mary Jane is engaged to Jameson's son, renowned astronaut John Jameson, and gets into a fight with a drunken Harry over his loyalty to Spider-Man. As Octavius rebuilds his experimental reactor, Peter's powers remain unreliable. After a doctor tells him that his physical problems are due to mental stress, he gives up being Spider-Man to pursue a life of his own, which drastically improves from not having to devote any effort to helping others. During this time, Peter also begins to mend his relationship with Mary Jane, who is initially critical of his sudden desire to be friends again.

A garbage man brings Spider-Man's discarded costume to sell at the Bugle. Jameson takes credit for Spider-Man's disappearance, but later admits that he was indeed a hero, and the only person capable of stopping Octavius. Without Spider-Man, crime in the city rises approximately 75%. Peter realizes his need after watching a man get mugged but Peter walked away, and attempts to remedy his inaction by saving a child from a burning building. He is further distraught after learning from the firefighters that another person was killed in the same fire. Aunt May advises Peter that sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice one's dreams for the greater good. Realizing that the city's need for Spider-Man is greater than his personal ambitions, Peter desires to become Spider-Man again.

Octavius, having restored his project, needs tritium for his reactor, and goes to Harry to get it. When he refuses, Octavius threatens to kill him. Harry agrees to give Octavius all the tritium he possesses in exchange for bringing Spider-Man to him, and tells him that Peter, who is supposedly good friends with Spider-Man, is the key to finding him; however, he tells him not to hurt Peter. Octavius attacks Peter while he is with Mary Jane at a coffee shop, and abducts Mary Jane. Following this, Peter finds that his powers have returned, and he dons his costume again after stealing it back from the Bugle. Jameson, who finds out, once again continues his role to denounce Spider-Man as a menace. Spider-Man then proceeds to battle Octavius across town; the two fight each other atop an elevated train until Octavius throttles the accelerator to maximum and then destroys the control panel. Spider-Man attempts to stop the runaway train from going over the bumper block at the end of the tracks—successfully saving everyone on board but exhausting himself severely through the Herculean effort. The people on the train prevent Spider-Man from falling to his death, and when they see him unmasked (his mask having been torn off in the battle), they are shocked to see that he is "just a kid." Two boys on the train give Peter his mask back and everyone promises not to reveal his identity. Peter puts his mask back on with the people glad that Spider-Man is back. Octavius reappears, but the people on the train stand in his way. He easily holds them aside and when Spider-Man signals to release him, Octavius knocks Spider-Man unconscious, and delivers him to Harry.

Harry gives him the tritium, and Octavius leaves to finish his reactor. Harry then unmasks Spider-Man and is horrified to discover that the enemy he swore to kill is his best friend. Peter regains consciousness and convinces Harry to reveal Octavius's whereabouts, so he can rescue Mary Jane and prevent Octavius from finishing his reactor. Spider-Man finds Octavius and Mary Jane at his waterfront laboratory, with Octavius putting the finishing touches on his maniacal invention. Although Spider-Man attempts to rescue Mary Jane discreetly, Octavius catches on and the two of them fight once more. Spider-Man ultimately subdues Octavius and reveals his identity to him, pleading for a way to stop the reactor. Free from the influence of his tentacles, and refusing to die as a monster, Octavius uses his mechanical arms to collapse the floor of the building, successfully drowning the reactor at the cost of his own life. Mary Jane sees Peter unmasked and immediately understands the immense burden that has been put on him with this identity, but also sees that he does indeed love her. After they escape, Peter explains that as long as he is Spider-Man, Mary Jane will be a target for his enemies, and tells her they cannot be together, and he refuses to let her take the risk. Peter returns Mary Jane to John and he leaves.

Harry has visions of his father in a hanging mirror; the hallucination demands that his son kill Peter to avenge his death. Harry refuses and shatters the mirror, revealing a secret room containing the Green Goblin's gear, also finding out that he was the Green Goblin. Mary Jane, meanwhile, is getting ready for her wedding, but quickly leaves and goes to Peter's apartment. She tells Peter that she wants to be with him despite the risk. After they kiss, there is a sudden call for help and Mary Jane encourages Peter to respond to his personal vows while she waits for his return home, quietly apprehensive of the dangers they are about to face.

Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker / Spider-Man: The main protagonist. A superhero, a Columbia College physics student and photographer for the Daily Bugle. Juggling these separate lives means he briefly gives up his responsibilities as a superhero in a moment of adversity. When Maguire signed on to portray Spider-Man in 2000, he was given a three-film contract.[2] While filming Seabiscuit in late 2002, Maguire suffered injuries to his back and Sony was faced with the possibility of recasting their lead.[3] Negotiations arose to replace Maguire with Jake Gyllenhaal, who at the time was dating Kirsten Dunst, who portrayed Mary Jane Watson. However, Maguire recovered and was able to reprise his role, with a salary of $17 million.[4]

Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson: A friend Peter has loved since he was a child, yet he gave up the chance of being with her due to his obligations as a superhero. Since then, she has become a successful Broadway actress and model, and becomes engaged to John Jameson. She is angry due to Peter's failure to watch her performance in The Importance of Being Earnest, when everybody else close to her, even her abusive father, has seen it.

James Franco as Harry Osborn: Harry Osborn has taken his father's position as head of Oscorp. He supplies Octavius with tritium for the fusion experiment, but when it fails, Harry falls into alcoholism and a desire to kill Spider-Man, whom he believes killed his father. Harry also becomes angry at Peter, believing he will not tell him who Spider-Man is, being the supplier of his photographs to the Daily Bugle.

Alfred Molina as Dr. Otto Octavius / Doc Ock: The main antagonist. A scientist and Peter's role model who goes insane after his failure to create a self-sustaining fusion reaction. Octavius is bonded with his handling equipment, four artificially intelligent mechanical tentacles. These convince him to carry on his dangerous experiments no matter the cost, in memory of his wife who was killed in the fusion accident. Molina was cast as Octavius in February 2003 and immediately began physical training for the role.[5] Raimi had been impressed by his performance in Frida and also felt he had the physicality.[6] Molina only briefly discussed the role and was not aware that he was a strong contender for the role,[7] and was excited, being a big fan of Marvel Comics.[8] Although he wasn't familiar with Doc Ock, Molina found one element of the comics that he wanted to maintain, and that was the character's cruel, sardonic sense of humor.[9]

Rosemary Harris as May Parker: May Parker is the loving aunt to Peter, a widow of Ben. She blames herself for his murder, but is still unaware of the circumstances surrounding it. Her house is threatened with foreclosure.

J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson: J. Jonah Jameson is the miserly chief of the Daily Bugle who carries a personal vendetta against Spider-Man, whom he considers a criminal. When Spider-Man temporarily gives up, Jameson also begins to reconsider his opinion of the superhero. When Spider-Man returns, he takes his suit back from Jameson, who instantly reverts to his vendetta.

Donna Murphy as Rosalie Octavius: Rosalie Octavius is the dedicated wife and assistant of Otto Octavius. She is killed when Octavius' experiment goes awry.

Daniel Gillies as John Jameson: The son of J. Jonah Jameson, fiancé of Mary Jane and a national hero.

Dylan Baker as Dr. Curt Connors: Dr. Curt Connors is one of Peter's physics professors at college, who reminds him to get his work done. He is a colleague of Octavius.

Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn / Green Goblin: Norman returns as a hallucination of his son Harry. Dafoe came up with the idea during promotion for Spider-Man, which he compared to King Hamlet haunting his son to avenge him.[10]

High school senior Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) lives in Forest Hills, a quiet neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens, with his Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) and Aunt May (Rosemary Harris). He secretly loves Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), a warm-hearted girl next door, but he is too shy to approach her. His friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) is the son of Dr. Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe), president of the Oscorp manufacturing corporation, which is working to win a contract to supply weapons to the United States Army. On a field trip to a genetics laboratory, Peter is bitten by a genetically engineered spider. He passes out in his bedroom at home, and the next day his vision is perfect, he has become more muscular with superhuman strength, his wrists emit web strings, and his reflexes are super-quick. At school, he saves Mary Jane from a split-second fall and easily defeats her bullying boyfriend in a fistfight. Realizing that the spider's bite has given him spiderlike powers, he trains himself to scale walls, jump between rooftops, and swing through the city.

Peter enters a wrestling tournament, hoping to win $3,000 so he can buy a sports car to impress Mary Jane. On the day of the tournament, Ben tries to give him some fatherly advice, but Peter lashes out at him. At the tournament, the announcer presents Peter as "The Amazing Spider-Man". Peter easily defeats his opponent, Bonesaw McGraw (Macho Man Randy Savage), but the man in charge only gives Peter $100 for winning the match early. When a thief robs the man, Peter takes his revenge by allowing the robber to escape, but he discovers later that the thief killed Uncle Ben during his getaway. Feeling responsible for Ben's death, and feeling guilty for rejecting his advice, Peter dedicates himself to fighting crime as Spider-Man. He makes money by selling pictures of himself as Spider-Man to Daily Bugle newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons), who declares Spider-Man as a menace to New York.

Meanwhile, under pressure from the military, Norman tests Oscorp's dangerous new performance-enhancing chemical on himself. The chemical manages to make him much stronger, but he quickly develops a maniacal alter ego. He immediately murders his assistant, then kills several of his competitor's scientists from the air, wearing an artificial exoskeleton and standing on a small flying platform called a "glider". After Oscorp's directors fire him, he flies to an Oscorp-sponsored fair and kills them. He almost kills Mary Jane too but Spider-Man manages to drive him away. After being saved by the superhero, Mary Jane begins to develop a crush on him and also becomes weary of her relationship with Harry. A few days after the chaos at the festival on a rainy night, Mary Jane finds herself cornered in an ally by a group of thugs. She is attacked, stripped, pinned and almost taken advantage of but Spider-Man saves her again. Now with even stronger feelings for him, Mary Jane undoes Spider-Man's mask just to his mouth and they share a long, deep, passionate kiss.

Jameson dubs Norman's alter ego the "Green Goblin". After Spider-Man refuses the Goblin's offer to work together and Norman secretly discovers that Peter is Spider-Man, the Green Goblin attacks Aunt May.

As they watch over May in the hospital, Mary Jane tells Peter she loves Spider-Man, and Peter expresses his own feelings for her. Harry sees them holding hands, and in an act of jealousy tells his father about their love for each other, revealing that Peter has feelings for Mary Jane. The Goblin lures Spider-Man to the top of the Queensboro Bridge by taking Mary Jane and a Roosevelt Island Tramway car full of children hostage. He drops both at the same time, but Spider-Man saves them all with help from the people on the bridge and a barge, forcing the Goblin to take Spider-Man to an abandoned atrium for a fight. After a fierce battle, Spider-Man eventually defeats the Green Goblin, forcing Norman to reveal himself. However, Norman attempts to kill Peter by sending his glider flying towards him but Peter dodges it, causing it to impale Norman. Norman tells Peter not to reveal his true identity to Harry before dying. The climax of the film reprises Amazing Spiderman #121, The Night Gwen Stacy Died.

Spider-Man delivers Norman's body to the Osborn's penthouse, but is spotted by Harry, who is now left with the impression that Spider-Man murdered his father. At Norman's funeral, Harry swears to Peter that he will make Spider-Man pay dearly and avenge his father's death. Mary Jane confesses her love to Peter and kisses him, but Peter insists that they can only be friends, afraid that she would suffer further harm if Spider-Man's enemies knew that he loved her. Walking away from Mary Jane, who is now in tears yet also finds the kiss familiar afterward, he recalls Ben's words, "With great power comes great responsibility," and accepts his new life as Spider-Man.

Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker / Spider-Man Peter is an academically brilliant but socially inept boy who is bitten by a genetically modified spider and gains spider-like abilities. Maguire was cast as Peter in July 2000,[3] having been Sam Raimi's primary choice for the role after he saw The Cider House Rules.[4] The studio was initially hesitant to cast someone who did not seem to fit the ranks of "adrenaline-pumping, tail-kicking titans",[3] but Maguire managed to impress studio executives with his audition. The actor was signed for a deal in the range of $3 to $4 million with higher salary options for two sequels.[3] To prepare, Maguire was trained by a physical trainer, a yoga instructor, a martial arts expert, and a climbing expert, taking several months to improve his physique.[5] Maguire studied spiders and worked with a wire man to simulate the arachnidlike motion, and had a special diet.[6]

The studio had expressed interest in actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Freddie Prinze, Jr,[7] Chris Klein, Wes Bentley, and Heath Ledger.[8] DiCaprio had been considered by James Cameron for the role in 1995,[9] while Raimi joked of Prinze that "[he] won't even be allowed to buy a ticket to see this film."[8] In addition, actors Scott Speedman, Jay Rodan, and James Franco were involved in screen tests for the lead role.[10]

Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn / Green Goblin: CEO of Oscorp who tests an unstable strength enhancer on himself and becomes the insane and powerful Green Goblin. Unaware of Spider-Man's true identity, he also sees himself as a father figure for Peter, ignoring his own son, Harry. Dafoe was cast as Osborn in November 2000,[11] after Nicolas Cage, John Malkovich, and Jim Carrey turned down the role.[12][13] Dafoe insisted on wearing the uncomfortable costume as he felt that a stuntman would not convey the character's necessary body language. The 580-piece suit took half an hour to put on.[8]

Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson: The girl whom Peter Parker has developed a crush since he was six years old. Mary Jane has an abusive father, and aspires to become an actress, but becomes a waitress at a run down diner, a fact she hides from her boyfriend Harry. She kiss Spider-Man right after being save from Bad guys. She also Peter Parker's girlfriend. Before Raimi cast Dunst, he had expressed his interest in casting Alicia Witt.[14] Dunst decided to audition after learning Maguire had been cast, feeling the film would have a more independent feel.[15] Dunst earned the role a month before shooting in an audition in Berlin.[8]

James Franco as Harry Osborn: Before being cast as Peter's best friend and flatmate, Franco had screen tested for Spider-Man himself.[16]

Cliff Robertson as Ben Parker: May Parker's husband and Peter Parker's uncle, a fired electrician who is trying to find a new job. He is killed by a carjacker whom Peter failed to stop, and leaves Peter with the message, "With great power comes great responsibility."

Rosemary Harris as May Parker: Ben Parker's wife and Peter Parker's aunt who is highly aware of Peter's love for Mary Jane.

J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson: The grouchy publisher of the Daily Bugle who considers Spider-Man a criminal. Nonetheless he has a good side and pays Peter for photos of Spider-Man, and refuses to tell the Green Goblin the identity of the photographer.

Joe Manganiello as Eugene "Flash" Thompson: A repugnant high school student who bullies Peter, and is defeated in a fight after Peter inherits his spider powers.

Bill Nunn as Joseph "Robbie" Robertson: The kindly editor at the Daily Bugle, who on occasion helps Peter.

Michael Papajohn as The Carjacker: The criminal who robs the wrestling manager who stiffs Peter Parker for his ring performance and murders Ben Parker (although the murderer was retconned as Flint Marko / Sandman in Spider-Man 3). He was killed from falling from a window when confronted by Peter. In Spider-Man 3, it is learned that his name is Dennis Carradine.

Elizabeth Banks as Betty Brant: As seen in past Spider-Man comics, Betty Brant is Jameson's secretary who has a bit of a soft spot for Peter.

Bruce Campbell, a long-time colleague of director Sam Raimi, cameoed as the announcer at the wrestling ring Peter takes part in. Raimi himself appeared off-screen, throwing popcorn at Peter as he enters the arena to wrestle Bonesaw McGraw (played by former professional wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage).[17] Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee also had a cameo, in which he asks Peter, "Hey kid, would you like a pair of these glasses? They're the kind they wore in X-Men." The scene was cut, and Lee only briefly appears in the film to grab a young girl from falling debris during the battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin in Times Square. R&B/soul singer Macy Gray appears as herself. Lucy Lawless, star of Xena: Warrior Princess (produced by Raimi), also appears as a punk rock girl. One of the stunt performers in this film is actor Johnny Tri Nguyen.[4] Kickboxer Benny "The Jet" Urquidez has an uncredited cameo as a mugger.

Spider-Man, who is loved by New York for having scared away criminals, plans to propose to Mary Jane Watson, who has just made her Broadway musical debut. While Peter and Mary Jane are on a date in Central Park watching a meteor shower on one of Peter's webs, a small meteorite crashes nearby. An extraterrestrial symbiote, which looks like black tar, attaches itself to Peter's moped. Elsewhere, escaped prisoner Flint Marko is being chased by the police. He climbs a security fence and falls into an experimental particle accelerator, which fuses his body with the surrounding sand. He finds he can shapeshift at will and becomes the Sandman. Peter's best friend, Harry Osborn, who knows Peter is Spider-Man and responsible for his father's death, attacks Peter on the way home from his Aunt May's apartment using new weapons based on his father's Green Goblin technology, becoming New Goblin. In the attack, Harry injures his head on a pipe and suffers from partial amnesia (loss of short-term memory), making him forget his revenge and that Peter is Spider-Man.

Later, during a festival honoring Spider-Man, Sandman robs an armored car, which Spider-Man is unable to stop. NYPD Captain George Stacy (Gwen's father) tells Peter and Aunt May that Ben Parker's killer was actually Flint Marko, and that deceased Dennis Carradine was only an accomplice. Peter goes to bed planning revenge on Marko and while he is asleep, the alien symbiote bonds with him. Peter wakes up hanging from a skyscraper and discovers that his costume has changed and his powers have been greatly enhanced, but the symbiote brings out the vengeful, selfish and arrogant side of Peter. Wearing the new black suit, Spider-Man locates Marko and ends up fighting him in a subway tunnel. He discovers that water is Marko's weakness and rips a water pipe to deliver a lethal torrent of water, reducing Sandman to mud.

Peter's changed personality alienates Mary Jane, whose career is floundering, and she finds solace with Harry. Harry recovers from his amnesia and, urged on by an hallucination of his dead father, forces Mary Jane to break up with Peter. After Mary Jane tells Peter she is in love with somebody else, Harry meets with Peter and claims to be "the other guy". Later, Peter, wearing the black suit, confronts Harry at his home, fights him and is victorious in a brutal fight. Peter, disgusted by Harry thinking he killed his father, finally tells him he's done covincing him and tells him that his father never loved him, and knocks him out, but Harry throws his exploding pumpkin bomb at Peter, but dodges and uses his web to throw it back at Harry, disfiguring his face at progess. Under the influence of the suit, Peter exposes Eddie Brock, a rival photographer, who has just gained celebrity status at the Daily Bugle by submitting doctored photographs showing Spider-Man as a criminal. Furious at having to print a retraction (having not printed one in 20 years), J. Jonah Jameson fires Eddie. Peter changes his looks and begins to behave arrogantly. Meanwhile, the Sandman recovers from his injuries, having survived Spider-Man's attack.

In order to make Mary Jane jealous, Peter brings Gwen to the nightclub where Mary Jane works. Gwen catches on and storms out, leaving Peter to confront Mary Jane. As he is about to scold her, he gets into a fight with the bouncers and accidentally hits Mary Jane, knocking her to the floor. Peter realizes the symbiote is changing him even worse. He goes to a church bell tower to get rid of the suit, but he is unable to remove it. The alien shows a strong reaction to the loud bells, weakening it. Peter is able to tear the symbiote off and it falls to the lower tower and lands on Eddie Brock who is at the same church praying for Peter's death. The symbiote attaches to him and completely overtakes him. Eddie, now transformed into Venom, finds Sandman and offers him to join forces into killing Spider-Man, which he agrees.

Mary Jane's taxi cab is hijacked by Eddie and hung from a gigantic web hundreds of feet above a sand-filled construction site. Peter goes to Harry for help, but he refuses and forces him out. However, Harry learns the truth about his father's death from Bernard the butler and arrives in time to help Peter, fighting together against the two villains. Harry temporarily subdues a gigantic incarnation of the Sandman while Brock tries to impale Peter with Harry's glider. Harry jumps in the way and is instead stabbed, suffering the same fate as his father. During his fight with the symbiote, Peter recalls how a chime of the bell helped him weakening it, thereby removing the symbiote. He grabs a bunch of pipes and driving them into the concrete, creates a ring around the symbiote that he can strike to create a wall of sonic vibrations. The alien is weakened so much that it finally releases Brock, and Peter uses his webbing to pull Brock away from the creature, but it grows bigger, and Peter throws a pumpkin bomb at the symbiote, but Eddie, wanting the power of the symbiote jumps back in to rebond with it, and both are destroyed by the blast.

After the battle, Flint Marko tells Peter that he did not intend to kill Ben Parker, but only wanted his car, and shot him by accident when Dennis grabbed his arm. He claims that Uncle Ben's death has haunted him ever since. Peter forgives Marko, who dissipates and floats away. Peter and Harry forgive each other before Harry dies with Mary Jane and Peter at his side. They attend Harry's funeral along with Aunt May, Bernard and the Stacys. A few days later, Peter walks into the jazz bar where Mary Jane is singing. They embrace, begin to dance and start to reconcile their relationship.

Mary Jane has a string of bad luck in the film, reminiscent of Peter's misfortune in Spider-Man 2, losing her first Broadway role because of bad reviews and losing her boyfriend when the symbiote takes him over.[4]

James Franco as Harry Osborn / New Goblin: The son of Norman Osborn and Peter Parker's best friend, who believes Spider-Man murdered his father. After learning Peter is Spider-Man and his father was the Green Goblin, Harry becomes the New Goblin to battle Peter directly.

Rosemary Harris as May Parker: Peter Parker's aunt and widow of Ben Parker. She gives Peter her engagement ring so he can propose to Mary Jane, and teaches him forgiveness.

J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson: The aggressive chief of the Daily Bugle. He dislikes Spider-Man, whom he considers a criminal.

Dylan Baker as Dr. Curt Connors: Peter Parker's college physics professor. He examines a piece of the symbiote and tells Peter it "amplifies characteristics of its host... especially aggression."

Bill Nunn as Joseph "Robbie" Robertson: A longtime employee at the Daily Bugle.

Elizabeth Banks as Betty Brant: Receptionist at the Daily Bugle for J. Jonah Jameson.

Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn / Green Goblin: The hallucination of Harry Osborn's late father returns to encourage his son to destroy Spider-Man.

Cliff Robertson as Ben Parker: Peter Parker's deceased uncle.

Michael Papajohn as Dennis Carradine: The carjacker who was believed to have murdered Uncle Ben.

Mageina Tovah as Ursula Ditkovich: An unassuming girl next door who is the daughter of Peter's landlord.
